Roman Högg, Project Leader

Roman Högg is a member of the Risk Dialogue Foundation as a project manager since 2010 where he focuses on information technology and society. He studied media and communications management and worked as a researcher and PhD student at the =mcminstitut at the University of St. Gallen. He researched topics such as user acceptance – especially in the area of mobile media – as well as phenomena on the internet. Subsequently he was employed as a consultant for the PR agency Peter Bütikofer & Company where he was involved in innovative online initiatives as well as conventional PR projects.

Viola Schetula, Project Leader
Since 2005 Viola Schetula has been working for the risk dialogue foundation. She works in different projects in the context of risk evaluation, risk awareness and risk communication in the fields of nanotechnology, natural hazards and climate change. She conducts research and stakeholder-dialogues. Viola Schetula studied political science and sociology at the Universities of Stuttgart and Florence. Furthermore she received a doctoral scholarship from the foundation for environment and damage prevention. At present she is writing her PhD on natural hazards and communication with the focus on risk awareness.

Jonas Schwan, Project Leader
Jonas Schwan is project leader of the website www.nano-sicherheit.de (comissioned by the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Transport, Urban and Regional Development). He was already involved in the relaunch of this platform und is coordinating the editoral team since. His focus is on the fields of communication, regulatory framework and risk management of nanotechnologies and furthermore supports the nanotechnology division in organisational tasks. He studies social sciences at the University of Stuttgart.

Christian Schneider B.A., Project Leader

Christian Schneider studied Physics, Political Science and Sociology at the University of Stuttgart. He was co-author of the studies ‘Nanomedicine – Chances and Risks’ for the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation and the study ‘Nanotechnologies – what customers want to know’ for the Federation of German Consumer Organisations. At the moment he is involved in several projects in the context of nanotechnologies and climate change.

Martina Brunnthaler, Project Assistant
As social- an d environmental psychologist Martina Brunnthaler is particularly concerned with questions of risk perception and risk communication. She works in projects on natural hazards and nanotechnologies and is thereby concerned with the analysis of debates and the moderation of dialogues. She finished her Master of Science in Psychology at the Universities of Vienna and Berne with a focus on social psychology. Martina Brunnthaler is project coordinator and vice president in the executive committee of the Initiative Psychology in Environmentalism (IPU).

Nico Kreinberger, Project Assistant
Nico Kreinberger studied Politics, Sociology and Empirical Social Research at Stuttgart University. At the Risk Dialogue Foundation he works in the fields of internal organization, nanotechnologies and climate change. Before that he worked in the human resources department of Germany`s biggest automotive component supplier. Key aspects of his work were the consultancy and supervision of junior employees as well as the organisation and facilitation of workshops and personal development seminars.

Bernd Meichelböck, Project Assistant
Bernd Meichelboeck supports the team with the international research and stakeholder projects. He assisted in the translation the English version of the German NanoKommission’s final report 2008. Bernd Meichelboeck is bilingual (German-American) and studied Sociology at Wuerzburg University. At present he is settled in the English department and the department for political science of the University of Stuttgart.

Alexander Probst, Project Assistant
Alexander Probst studied economy at the University of Marburg. He gained experience in the industry and at an international NGO. Currently he is also located in the Department of Political Science and Sociology at the Universitof Stuttgart. He oversees the areas of risk assessment and public perception on the Internet platform www.nano-sicherheit.de. Alexander Probst is also working in other nanotechnology projects.

Milena Riede, Project Assistant
Milena Riede studied social science and economic science at the University of Munich, FHW Berlin und LSBU London. As a project manager, she arranged and moderated dialogue procedures in the area of social urban development and civil participation in Berlin. Due to her education as a mediator and economic mediator her activities additionally focus on the area of conflict management. Milena Riede is project assistant in the division nanotechnology and co-facilitator in the EU project “European Citizens Deliberation on Brain Science”.

Michael Veller, Scientific Assistant
Michael Veller studied sociology and political science at Stuttgart University (focus on environmental and risk sociology) and has been working as a project assistant for the Risk Dialogue Foundation since 2005. He conducts qualitative and empirical data analysis in the field of nanotechnology stakeholder dialogues, e.g. an expert delphi on behalf of the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung, BfR). He is also a member of the project team working on the internet platform on nanotechnology. Additionally he he works in projects dealing with climate change related natural hazards.

Heinz Jarmai, Consultant and Moderator Heinz Jarmai accompanies Risk Dialogue Foundation since it was founded. He is a co-founder and partner of the advisory panel Neuwaldegg, Vienna. His work focuses on business development, management coaching and education of management consultants.
